Prevent Writers Block with YouTube!

By James Martell

Most affiliates understand that to keep the search engine's spiders returning to their site over and over again, they must continuously add fresh and interesting new content. That is vital to developing top rankings at the search engines.

As a result, I am personally always on the hunt for new topics to write about and every once in a while I found myself running into the dreaded writer's block scenario. I had to find a way to overcome this, and I realized that this would likely not be a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of problem, but rather one that would keep creeping up. Then one day it hit me -- YouTube! My problem was solved…

YouTube provides a nearly unlimited resource of cool videos on fascinating topics that you can freely publish on your website. By using it, writer's block will be a thing of the past. There is never ending stream videos pouring into YouTube, you will literally never run out. The great thing is that much of the content you will find there has been professionally produced, and did I mention it's free?! It's truly an amazing resource for you.

The way I use YouTube is that I'll browse the site for videos I know my visitors will find helpful, entertaining, or interesting, or all of the above. I will then gather 10 or 20 of these videos at a time, and pass along a link to each one to my writer.

The writer watches each video in turn, while taking notes, and crafts a nice introduction to it so that your visitors know what to expect. It's also a valuable service for those amongst your visitors who are not savvy to surfing YouTube. What might've once been hard to find information is now instantly available to them at their fingertips, and they will love you for it!

What you're looking at hear are two examples of the use of YouTube videos. The video was added to my kit car site and features Tiff Needle putting a Ford GT40 through it's paces.

Now if you find yourself thinking, well James you have a site about cars and everyone's interested in cars so that's easy, here’s another example to show you the diversity of what’s available.

The video to the left was posted on Arlene’s epilepsy site, (she’s actually gathered a number of videos from YouTube to add to her site) EpilepsyMoms.com, and it’s by Academy Award winner Meryl Streep.

So head on over to YouTube and spend some time browsing the available videos on your own topic - I'll bet you'll be very pleasantly surprised at the great content you find there. You will not only say goodbye to writer's block, but hello to great content that is yours for free. YouTube can help make a huge positive difference in the success of your online business!

All the best,
