ShareASale Think Tank 2009 - Newport Beach, California (Video)

By Arlene Martell

Once again, Brian Littleton has put on an outstanding event, in a beautiful resort overlooking the Pacific ocean. The ShareASale Think Tank 2009 was held at the opulent Pelican Hill Resort in sunny Newport Beach California. The 5-star resort and bungalows were surrounded by a sweeping golf course and magnificent round pool.

James and I decided to head to California four days early and stay an extra night - as we often do to fit a breakation into our trip and take time to visit the most popular attractions. This year we got to spend 3 full days at one of our favorite places - The happiest place on earth -- Disneyland!

Below is a fun video we put together to commemorate out trip.

We booked into a cool trendy hotel called Hotel Menage in Anaheim. It was a boutique hotel with a polished look and fabulous service and food. We had a nice dinner by the pool and watched the fireworks from Disney right above our heads.

In the morning we headed for the park to take in all our favorite rides including Pirates of the Caribbean, splash mountain, the jungle cruise, big thunder mountain railroad, the submarines and many more. It was very warm with a light breeze and with little crowds we were never in a lineup for more than 10 minutes. We also had a day in California Adventure and loved the roller coaster and the Soaring over California ride.

We were able to spend some quality time together cruising the two parks and by the time we were ready to leave, we were ready for the conference to begin.

We hopped into our rental car - A brand new Camaro and headed for the Pelican Hill resort. Driving up to the resort was breath-taking with a sea of palm trees and the staff jumped to attention to make sure our stay was very comfortable and stress free. We were treated to a little tour of our bungalow and knew right away we were in for a few days of pure luxury.

The room was gorgeous with vaulted ceilings and a warm fire. The marble bathroom, the big bed, living room and patio held every amenity we could need. At our beck and call was a resort vehicle to take us to the main hotel at any time. On a few occasions, we were picked up in a brand new Bentley.

The first evening we met the other members invited to the Think tank out on the terrace for a full seafood buffet dinner - to mingle and chat. The night was warm and it was great to meet with other affiliates and top merchants.

Over the next two days we were treated to panels of merchants each sharing product information and perks about their company. It was nice to see what was being offered to affiliates who want to work with a great selling product line and know the support and advice of an affiliate manager is a call away. We were also able to book appointments to meet merchants on an individual basis in the cabanas surrounding the pool. We were treated to samples of products to bring home, and were able to ask very direct questions about the products and performance. And merchants were able to ask us about what we want as affiliates of their program. We were very inspired after chatting with each one.

The last day was a sharing session of what could be done to improve any aspect of ShareASale. Brian really builds great relationships with his merchants and is very attentive to the needs of the affiliates joining his program. It is no wonder his company enjoys the success it has. Attention to detail and meeting people's needs are high on the list.

The whole event was very fulfilling and exciting. We connected with many people who we can work with to improve our own business. All the meals were incredible and you could not ask for a better atmosphere.

The last day we checked out, and headed for the beach to find Balboa Island - a unique little place with quaint shops and attractions. We spent the final night with a nice dinner out and checked into the Newport Beach Hyatt Regency.

All in all, it was a very successful trip and we were very spoiled. I highly recommend it!

Our thanks again to Brian for another first class event and we look forward to using what we learned and cultivating the relationships with the merchants.

All the best,
